Huh?!
Well, you'd think that people learn from their own mistakes. Obviously not. LJ/6A has done it again. It's all over the fandom now, so I'll just say, go to fandom_counts and be counted. But my mind still boggles.
And I had a minor epiphany about Dumbledore's socks. Well, more about Harry in PS, that he perceives Dumbledore as not entirely truthful when he tells Harry that: "One can never have enough socks," said Dumbledore. "Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn't get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books."
In his own way, Dumbledore told Harry something really true about himself. Those words illustrated exactly what Harry only understands in DH - that Dumbledore would have seen his lost family in the Mirror. It struck me only yesterday that only family would give you warm, woolen socks. I can't exactly imagine a colleague or even a friend of Dumbledore's who would give him socks. And they weren't close enough with Aberforth to give each other such gifts. Anyway, not enough socks means that poor Albus didn't have anyone who could give him a pair or two.
And I'll end here, because I'm prolly the last person to have realised that.
PS. I'm ev_vy pretty much everywhere, JF, GJ and Vox (though the last one I still can't use - I visit the site and I have no idea what to do...). And I'd have to check blurty, InsaneJ and CrazyJ if I have accounts there. Something tells me I do. *squints* But I really, really don't remember. That is, if anyone's interested.
