Naps are wonderful things. It allows me to calm down when the kids are refusing to listen (mostly Zach, omg I can't wait till he's four and can be reasoned with) and stay awake for pathfinder. I think I have settled into my role in combat as the support person. I didn't even bother to try for damage much, just buff spells. My character doesn't get as much n damage anyway. I do miss that, so next time I build a character, I won't be a wizard. Yes, I could always pick a different school or spells, but it was the character build and initially wanting to pick spells to augment the monk ranks. ::throws up hands:: I haven't played wizards before, so it's more my attitude towards party balance. And maybe missing my arcane archer. :)
It sucks that our usual Sunday dinner place was closed. Apparently within the past week, it was bought by a new company. They closed the place and want everyone to reapply for their jobs, with a reopening plan on a month. I hope they rehire the same people. They would be stupid not to.
I finally watched Jupiter Ascending. I love it, and find the bits of world building fascinating. It implies a caste system based on genetics, the technology is gorgeous and pretty over the top, and I will likely have to watch it a couple more times to really see the costumes and background details. It brought to mind the Cuckoo arc of stories in The Sandman; little girls pretend to be secret princesses hidden away, with a warrior to rescue them and protect them. But at the end of the day, Jupiter realizes what matters to her and does what she can to help. She isn't the Cuckoo, she's Barbie, staying in the real world and working within its rules. Dunno if I want to fic it, but wow, there's so much potential for it.
Hopefully today runs smooth. I'm dropping off and picking up the kids.
