I hope everyone who celebrates it had a good mother's day yesterday. This weekend was fairly laid back, which was nice. I even got a nice nap on Saturday, and yesterday Jason was off from work so we drove up to IHOP and had a quiet afternoon at home before going to dinner. Ah, simple needs. :)
We did stop by Best Buy, but they really don't have many desktops in stock anymore. For the same amount of money we wanted to spend, they actually suggest laptops. Those are made much more cheaply now, and my needs are more modest now. Then again, it's still harder to replace cards and chipsets, and I am woefully out of practice in looking up card stats. So building my own is kinda out of the question. I wound up selecting a tower online, so I'll have a new computer arriving next week sometime. It's not anywhere close to bleeding edge, but it should allow me to post and do stuff with pics and video. The rest of checking up on mail and making posts like this can be done on the kindle or my phone, so I should be okay. I may wind up doing more story writing by hand if I don't want to stay in the basement to write. I did that last night with the start of a story for the Natasha Romanoff minibang on Tumblr. Between transcribing that and writing a little more, I'm already on page 6 of typed text. Because I don't know how to be short. The big bang should be interesting, once I get around to starting it. :D
