Welcome home!

My flight back home was yesterday, but I was occupied by family stuff, and today was a busy catch up day at work. So, now I get to summarize the rest of my trip.

I had my exam on Sunday. I slept in after the late night dinner on Saturday night, and threw all of my luggage into the trunk of the rental car and checked out before my exam started. The exam itself seemed to go okay, though the more I pondered my performance in the bus afterward, the less sure I felt. I got back to the hotel long enough to go to the bathroom and pick up my car, then I was on the road to get to elliesmeow's house. It took me five and a half hours because of some traffic, but I actually like driving. It's very zen, and it's hard to ruminate on an oral board exam when you're driving in a state you don't know in the growing dark, and the only directions to rely on are printed from Google Maps. That made Jason nervous, but he did appreciate my calls along the way to let him know I was fine. I had a blast, and we talked, watched movies, read fic and discussed random fandomy things. Her mom is pretty cool, too. She also made a scarf for Maddy and a blanket for Zach, and I got makeup and the DVD of "Into Darkness." <3

I drove myself to the airport, and Jason picked me up. Zach had fallen and bumped his head at day care, so we picked him up and went home. He lit up when he saw me, and insisted on lots of hugs and cuddles. Of course, by the time we got home, he was all about racing around the house and climbing over everything. Jason went out to gt Indy and Maddy after that, and after dinner we all went out to get the family photos done for the holidays along with Indy. They'll be done on December 12, just in time for me to mail out the holiday cards. Since it's from a photographer, the batch of cards, ornaments and photo for my inlaws that we ordered are way more expensive than they would have been otherwise.

Work was super busy today, but I think I may post fic anyway. I'll put up a separate screened entry for people to leave me their address if they want a Christmas card. :)

zachary, madison, welcome to the real world, board exams are evil, family
