Not sure if I'll actually watch Saturday's episode of Doctor Who after I shut down. I spent the past 50 minutes posting instead of watching it. I think that tells you how unenthusiastic I am about the current series. Not that I don't like the companion, but in general the stories feel kind of tired. I liked "Hide," because it was a twisty ghost story of the kind I love. But I was kinda meh about last week's ep, and I'm a Neil Gaiman fangirl. I was just not properly scared of the Cybermen or invested enough in everyone doing well.

Zach is doing great. There's far less drippy snot coming out of his nose. He's not thrilled with the ear drops we have to use, but otherwise he's doing great. Still grinning at all the ladies at day care, racing all around our house or the deck and making himself heard as best as he can. He can definitely communicate, that's for sure. :) He wasn't terribly thrilled with being outside this past weekend while I was gardening, but I think it's because there was a slope to the edge of the yard. I got part of the area weeded and the grass pulled out of the area I wanted to fix up, but Jason got tired of watching me do that after an hour. I did at least put down the sunflower seedlings Maddy had been working on, the phlox I got as Zach's Mother's Day gift and the annuals Maddy picked out at the Farmer's Market. I always seem to spend more at those things than I plan.

Still working on an Avengers fanfic as well as my current novel. I prolly should put in another 8k or so words to round it out, so that will keep me busy. Plus I did sign up for the Inception reverse bang. There's still more backlogged fic to post, too. The writing isn't as rapid as it was a year or two ago, but at least it's still getting done. Much better to focus on that and work than the news right now. :(

a novel idea, zachary, madison, family, random geekery, ficcing
