Shake it off with me...

Full day back to back at work today. Boo.

It was a nice weekend. Friday was one of those back to back full days, then gaming afterward. It was a character driven kind of session instead of full on combat, so it was a lot slower than the previous sessions with the plant and toxic spirits. I've been shutting off the alarms over the weekend, so we were able to sleep in... until about 7:30 am tops, since Maddy is a morning person. Yeah, STILL don't know how that one happened when we're both night people, but it means that it's easier for her to get ready in the morning. Mostly. She still tries to run out of her room because of noise (okay, you can hear all the guys laughing in the basement through the floor since the ceiling is unfinished, but she used that one ALL WEEKEND LONG.) Less with the fake potty requests, tho.

We bummed around the house all weekend, and she didn't nap so good on any day. I had to lay down with her a few times, and on Saturday at least that let me post the prepped Yuletide Madness ficlets I'd written as well as write one more on the fly. I didn't get a fourth in, since she woke up and interrupted me at that point. We had another family over on Saturday night, which was nice. Christmas we did on our own, with a couple phone calls here and there. I was on my netbook just long enough to read my Yuletide gift and drop a comment, but otherwise I was offline and playing with Maddy. She made out like a bandit, and apparently there's another box coming from my inlaws. They mentioned some stuff for me, but odds are good they'll have more stuff in there for Maddy. They yelled at us for going overboard in sending them gifts, but there had been awesome sales so it really looks more impressive than the dollar amount would imply.

Yesterday I had off, too. It turned out to be more of a lazy day than getting anything accomplished. Going out for lunch before picking up a new helmet for Maddy and a couple odds and ends was frustrating. The diner we went to took 52 minutes for us to get food from the time we sat down. Tho I suppose if I want to be (not really, but still) it was only 32 minutes from the time we actually ordered the two burgers and grill cheese. Yeah, it tok twenty minutes for the waitress to come by and take our food orders. It had taken her five minutes or so to come get the drink orders in the first place, and she forgot about my Coke. So I had to wait extra time for for it, too. Luckily Maddy was absorbed in the coloring book and didn't notice how long it took to get food at the table. I snarfed down that burger so fast I hardly tasted anything, so I couldn't even tell you if it was worth the wait. :(

The trip for the helmet and some odds and ends was uneventful in comparison, and we swung by the hospital to take a look at the Women and Child unit where I'll deliver in about three weeks, assuming I pop on time. (!!!!) It is really pretty, with large rooms. And the charge nurse had said that they're planning to renovate and make that area even nicer, when it's already about 1000% better than the rooms where I'd been to have Maddy. There's plenty of space for her to run around if need be, as well as tons of space for family to visit. Yanno, if we had family here for that. We'll see if the spawn waits for my inlaws to arrive or not.

And that's about it. Very laid back kind of weekend. So I'm listening to the CD that
azephirin made for me, which is all kinds of awesome, and catching up on messages before my day kicks into high gear.

Can I have more days off again? lol.
