The benefit to having day care across the parking lot? when I finish early in the morning and scarf down my lunch, I can walk across and sit with Maddy while she eats her lunch, and help tuck her in for nap time. :D

She kept grinning at me all through lunch, she was really excited that I was there visiting. I got lots of extra kisses and squishy hugs. :)

That's so great that she's so close!! One of the things I'm dreading about having a child.. day care! If I'm lucky I'll be able to convince my mom that it's time to retire soon!!!

I lucked out that it's this close. Back in NY before we moved, we had picked a place between work and home, so it wasn't quite so close. But you really do need to scope out places ahead of time. I visited and interviewed six places during one of my vacations when I was four months pregnant so I could get put on the waiting list.

It may not be quite so bad in your area, tho.

Nah, I live in a town of less than 6,000 people... pretty small! In fact, there's a day care just across the street from my house.. and my friend's kids go there so, I figure if mom doesn't succumb to my pressure (she's 62 and DYING from grandchildren-so IDK.. my chances might be pretty good!), that'll be the route I'll go.

My mom's 62 now, too. But there are other family wank issues at work, so she made it clear before I even got knocked up she couldn't help me out that way. I've kinda been on my own in this respect for a while. :(

She was so surprised to see me today, it was awesome. I got some extra cuddles and kisses before going back for a busy afternoon. :)
