Friday afternoon was nice and sunny and I spent it offline and mostly outside with Maddy and Indy. We went out to dinner at IHOP (I was totally lazy!) and the evening was spent on WOW and watching Cartoon Network's lineup. I finally dinged 77 and can fly around Northrend. Woo! I also spent an insane amount of virtual gold to level enchanting. I can't wait for when I can actually make money off my professions. :)
Saturday was Maddy's pediatric ophthamologist appointment. I did mostly because both Jay and I wear glasses, my entire family wears glasses and Doreen at the front desk mentioned that pediatricians aren't always a good judge as to whether or not things are progressing normally. (Tho she could be biased since her pediatrician missed a retina problem in her kid...) So the doctor was very good as promised, but it took forever. We had a 11:30 am appointment, but weren't called up until 12:30 to get the paperwork looked at and drops put in to dilate Maddy's eyes. The ophthamologist actually looked at maddy at 1:40 pm. But once he did, it went very quickly, and he was pretty thorough. She has age-appropriate farsightedness and astigmatism in one eye. A repeat exam between ages 3 and 4 would be a better predictor of whether she'll need glasses or not.
In the meantime, she did fantastic in the waiting room. We went rolling around the large waiting area scribbling in my notebook, waving at people as they walked around, looking at different toys, poking at the large fish tank, climbing up and down the fish tank base that was a seating area and a snack at close to 1 pm since we were waiting there through lunch. I forgot her sippy cup, so we wound up trying a paper cup, and she did great. Only minor spillage, and that was only because she opened up her mouth and dribbled it out before she swallowed. ::facepalm:: She napped pretty hard on the drive back home.
Jay and I washed our cars and Rich arrived in time for dinner. We went out to Applebee's, then after Maddy was put to bed, we watched Avatar. (Dances With Wolves in space, pretty much.) He stayed over and we completely geeked out on Sunday with tons of Fringe, Dr. Who (this week's ep and watching "The Five Doctors") and he tried to introduce Lost. I think Jay is wary of the fact that there's six seasons of canon to go through, and the flashbacks for layered plotting means he has to pay attention. lol. Only two eps left to Season 1 of Fringe, and then we have to catch up on Season 2 as soon as Rich gets it.
And now I'm working on actual work stuff for today's eval. Thankfully, it's a very nice and polite child who's been fairly resilient in the face of trauma and has some ADHD. And a parent left flowers at the front desk as a thank you for an eval done. Very nice all around. Hopefully my prickly patient isn't quite so prickly. I had an irritable enough mood very early this morning (tired + achy back + baby + dog + probable hormones...). And it really isn't pleasant to dread meeting with the kid, considering he does have some serious problems. :(
Anywho, more eval to write...
