Chalk this one up to fandom influence...

Well, I'm feeling like a freaky-deaky girlie again. ^^;

One of the chiefs had sent a link for an article on self-insertion. The article quotes radiologists as stating that this is new and dangerous and almost always linked to suicidality. My brain immediately went "Uh, no," since I've known about it for years. Usually via piercers, but still. Not new, not always dangerous and not always linked to suicidality, thanks. That's why it's a subculture. In some groups, it's actually normative. So I shoot back a little blurb like the above, but do thank him for the link, since the subculture doesn't insert broken glass or paper clips at home as far as I know.

Thank you, fandom. Your various realms of crazy have always introduced me to weirdness that no one else knows about at work but will cause them to give me eyeballs of doom. :D
