ooh... long day. I was on call today, so I had to stop by the VA to check up on our patient on the floor, write a note and any orders that needed writing. then I drove back home, and Jay and I went to P.F. Chang's for lunch. There was no problem getting a table at all, so the trick to that place is going for lunch. If you want to go to dinner, be ready for a three hour wait.

We went to P.F. Chang's since it was near the mall that held the Macy's. We spent a little over two hours setting up a registry there. we got some of the kitchen electronics, our china, our stemware and the knives. We didn't like the flatware there, so we may go somewhere else for that. After that, we drove over to a catering hall to see what it was like. they were too willing to drop the price per person for us, but pretty much were trying to strongarm us into signing a contract and putting a deposit down right away, and for 7-12 on Labor Day Monday. it's not even like they had anyone scheduled at all.... and that would suck for our guests, which is why we requested 4-9 or 5-10.

well, we took the folder and left. Then we called Rich to see if he was still interested in seeing Fantastic Four afterwards. He hemmed and hawed a bit, but we caught the 7 pm showing, and it was fun. Not according to the comic book exactly (so says the guys) but it kept with the spirit of the book, at least. Jay's rated it 6/10, though he couldn't remember exactly what bothered him about it.

tomorrow's going to be busy, too. we're finally getting our game off the ground (!) and then Jay and I have another appointment to visit a potential reception hall. in any case, we're still leaning very heavily to our first location. we'll likely sign there, and try to chop off a bit more off the price. but the first place we visited was pretty near perfect. so we'll see. :)
