Book Review

Lolita was...disturbing. At first he seems like a man who has some control over his love of children. At the very least he didn't actively prey on them. But the moment he met Dolores, or Lolita as he calls her, it was like all his defences were gone. And his justification for finding little girls sexually attractive was interesting. The idea of nymphs hidden among the population normal girls. It sounds like the usual jusitification that paedophiles use for what they do. But damn if the flow of words wasn't fascinating.

So having finished it, I'm moving onto Machiavelli and Marquis de Sade. Machiavelli is so far proving to be a very good read. He truly believes in what he writes, something that makes a book that much more persuasive. I've only had a glance at Marquis de Sade's book so far but it seems just as interesting and disturbing as Lolita.

And if I could just get my hands on 'The Man in the Iron Mask', I'll be happy.
