Frustrating incompetence

Frustrating day. Alicia went to the mandatory softball meeting at lunch today to discover that they need physician approval before even trying out, which has never happened before. Incompetency and outright laziness in a doctor's office is infuriating.

In order for my husband to be approved for the large computer monitor he needs due to his MS, they required a doctor's order. His MS Dr works with a team since this condition affects so many parts of the body. She directed us to the retinal eye specialist on the team Hubby had been seeing. Had to leave a message with the nurse; took her 3 days to respond. Asked what he needed even though I had left a detailed message. Said she would have to submit the request to the doctor; he would see it within 2 days, then he has a THREE WEEK turn around on all correspondence. I had offered to drive to his office to pick it up and she said there was no way to speed up the process (she was pretty rude).

I was pretty upset and called our PC. Got the letter within 24 hours. Called the eye specialist and cancelled his scheduled appt and when asked why, said we were very unhappy with their office practices and rude staff. Got a call from the office manager the next day, all concern and sweetness and explained why we were unhappy, she couldn't understand why I was told 3 weeks and I said we would no longer use this Dr due to a lack of trust.
