Starting the week off sore

Second week of kids' fall break. I really need to get back into the swing of things posting here, but my to do list is crazy. Saturday, we went and saw a matinee performance at the nearby Lesher Theater. My friend from college who's managed to make a living off acting/performing and now lives in the same county I do even though we went to college together in a state on the other side of the country (a small world happening that still surprises me) was in it. They were making a big to do about the romantic lead being 3rd runner up from that reality show a few years back where they were casting Grease, but in all honesty, I thought my friend and the other two guys were miles better. Though I did feel bad for him in the final scene when his mic went out. Oops.

I'm also sore because a friend goaded me into signing up for the online Biggest Loser Boot Camp that started last Monday. I was actually doing really well with the exercise for most of the week - sore, but it was muscular, not my arthritic hip - then last night my hip and knee decided to make up for lost time and both went out on me on the same move. I slept in our lazyboy to keep from twisting the joints in our sleep. My hip seems fine this morning, but my stupid knee is stiff. I'm going to get on the elliptical tonight instead of their workout since tomorrow's is a lower body strength regimen. That was the one that left me so sore last week, but I fully believe that it was responsible for helping my hip. Strengthening the muscles is a definite bonus.

Oh, and I managed to lose four pounds even with going out to dinner and having drinks on Saturday night. Not too shabby.

theater, diet
