Alicia left a surprise for me under my pillow. The mother/daughter journal we're doing together. I found it when I went to bed last night, and it made me cry.
The entry was about firsts, first memories and the like. One question was things you believed when you were little. One of her things was, "I believed I was awesome. I was different and that was cool. P.S. I still think I'm pretty awesome."
As if that wasn't bad enough, the last question was favorite memories of your parents. Her response was that each new one was her favorite, because we were the best parts of her life and she loved us so much.
Like I didn't already miss her enough. Because she's right. She is pretty awesome.
