So no appointment with an orthopedist this week. All the foot docs are busy/out this week at all three locations which meant the earliest I could get in was next week, which of course doesn't work since I'll be in the UK. *sigh

When I had tendonitis on top of my foot, ice was the only thing that helped. Try to do it as often as you can for 15-20 minutes at a time. Wait at least an hour or so in between, though. And keep your foot elevated as much as you can. Hope it feels better soon! It's so annoying, I know.
I can't remember exactly, but I know it improved much more quickly once I started icing it regularly. I was resistant at first because I didn't expect it to work, and I'd much rather use heat than ice! But the ice helped a lot. I think I started noticing improvement within a few days, although it wasn't completely better for a while.
I know, it's so striking when you discover you can't do what you took for granted. But yeah, ligaments or joints, I'm pretty sure it's something there.
Not easily, since I'm likely not on the NHS register anymore, and it's not an emergency. If it turns into one, I can do something, but I'm reluctant to deal with the headache of doing it internationally if I don't have to.

Thanks for the added advice on the ice. :) I didn't know about waiting between sessions, though. I'll remember that.
Just curious, how long did it take yours to get better?
