I'm a bit out of sorts this morning, because of bad dreams and then waking up to other stuff. Craig's home tonight, though, so I anticipate things improving. We're thinking of actually going out on the 15th for a Valentine's Day date, but we have to check about babysitting first. Fingers crossed it works out.

I've never seen Torchwood before, but I'll be checking it out for him. I just have to wait another week until I can see it.

I was going nuts yesterday with everybody on my flist talking about it. I fully blame them for my lack of willpower in waiting. ;)

S1 of Twood pretty much sucked; the Marsters ep is worlds better than anything from the earlier season.

Yeah, I've heard really mixed things about S1, which is why I never felt inclined to try it before now. So the question for this season is, is it going to be better because the creators/writers are doing better, or is this show a one-off because of Marsters' energy in it? I'm hoping for the former, actually. I wouldn't mind a good excuse to watch Barrowman on a weekly basis.

I am hoping for an overall improvement, because I want to like the show, but I know I'm less interested in the non-JM eps. He does return, I think in the finale. So that'll keep me watching.

We've been watching season I on the BBCAmerica on Saturday nights, hoping to get up to speed before the 26th. I actually have liked most of it. Quality is a bit spotty, for sure, but John Barrowman is soooo pretty, and I'm learning to like the other characters a bit more. Had tried an episode of Dr. Who and thought it was awful, so we found Torchwood to be quite a step up from that. I'm excited to hear that the first episode of the new season is good. I'm hoping that bodes well for the rest of the year - James or no James.

We tried Who, too, and hated it. But then Craig grew up with classic Who and kept comparing it.

This is the kind of show Craig likes, so I'm having high hopes even though James isn't on again until the end. Barrowman makes up for the pretty and charming. :)

You'll love Torchwood once you start watching. There's lots of shmoopy sex and violence. Plus, you're right, Jack is a sexy devil. (Barrowman is actually European, but he learned phonetic stage speech and now you can't really tell where he's from at all!)

But yes, season 1 was great. And, even though I haven't seen season 2's first ep yet, it sounds like it's gonna be good.

I knew Jack wasn't American. Though I'm curious why he has an American accent if none of the other characters do...hopefully that gets answered in S1 when I watch.
