Remember how I hinted around at having some potentially good stuff on the horizon from my writing collaborations with pepperlandgirl4? Well, I'm going to talk about it a little bit. If only because the pair of us are so excited, we can't contain ourselves, lol.

This is about our book, Chasing Silver, that is being released by Juno Books in September. Now, Juno is a print publisher; they don't go the e-pub route at all, so we've been excited about this from the beginning. It was a break into nationwide bookstores, and we were so so SO excited about that. Still are. Well, back in January, we had written the editor about our idea for sequels to it, a series of 5 or 6 books that we'd outlined way back last summer when we originally wrote it. The editor (Paula) was swamped and said it would be awhile before any decisions were made, so we backburnered everything and worked on other stuff. Frankly, we kind of forgot about it.

Then, a couple weeks ago, we got an e-mail from Paula asking when we might be able to get the sequel to her. pepperlandgirl4 and I talked, and decided the end of May was feasible, which Paula liked. So that promptly got bumped up on our to do list.

Well. Tonight we got another e-mail. Juno has been releasing their books in trade paperback size, but recent discussions have pretty much convinced them to try mass market paperback for a select few, four to be exact. And Chasing Silver was their #2 pick across the board.

What does that mean? That means instead of Borders buying a few hundred for their stores, they're going to buy thousands. That means front-of-store tables when it's released. That means more money for promotions.

Of course, it also means more pressure to sell well, lol. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

There are other ramifications of this that impact our lives, but frankly, I don't have the concentration to think about it tonight. I'm too excited. I can't stop thinking about getting to write the sequels in a 'verse I adore, with characters I love to death. And now, I have even more excuse to write with pepperlandgirl4, who I love even more than our characters.

writing, silver
