Echoes update

Well, it's Tuesday in the UK, which is where I'll be on Friday, and since I'm going to be in San Francisco tomorrow for our immigration interview, I'm posting this now. :)

Chapter 26 of Echoes is now up. A little bit of a lot of stuff, kind of...interim-ish. Hope you like it anyway. :)

ok, first off, i'm not stalking you. really. promise. Even if I keep commenting! I'm just stuck next to the computer for school and I keep hitting the 'refresh' on the flist because it's more fun than class work. *grin*

Now, onto the chapter. I missed William! I'm glad there was a flashback. I really enjoy how you do circular narratives like that. It's one of the things that keeps everything so interesting. I'm absolutely worried about Robin, because, hey, he's working with the evil one.

Favorite line? It won't be surprising. "Got my eyes wide open here,” he said softly. “And I see my beautiful, brilliant Buffy right in front of me." Yes, melting happened. Yes, alliteration is good.

Hee. I'm just glad to see you commenting. Stalking never even entered my mind. :)

I missed William, too, hence the flashback. The whole issue of Buffy's education just seemed too familiar not to take advantage of their earlier conversation. It's tough, because I adore William but I want Spike to have a rightful place, too. It's finding that balance that's the trick for me with this fic.

There's more B/S in the next chapter. I'm hoping for more melting. :)

Sorry I don't comment more often. But I'm still keeping up with Echoes. Love Spike slowly working his way into Giles' good graces. Love, love, love the Xander stuff. (Which is where I've been hanging out lately.) Especially his banter with Spike and attraction to Havi.

Love the flashback. I'm so glad Giles got to see a little of the relationship. And that he is finally realizing it isn't always the big dramatic romance he thinks it is, that it can also be just about a simple show of support from a boyfriend to his down girlfriend after a hard day.

I'm so glad the flashback worked for people. I wanted to bring back more of the William, but I worry about Spike losing his time since this is more his story now. Thank you for that. :)

Nice to be home and nice to find a new chapter of Echoes waiting for me this morning. A good cup of coffe (in my new Starbucks' London mug) and a new chapter from you make a wonderful start to the day.

As usual, wonderful job -- I loved the interaction between Spike and Giles -- both loving her, both not knowing exactly how to take care of her (and make sure she doesn't realize they're taking care of her). I also loved her with Spike at the end. Someone to just love her and believe in her, takes a bit of the weight off. Very nice.

It always strikes what a difficult position Giles is really in. He's seen both sides of Spike, and he's seen the effects on Buffy, and all of this is forcing him to completely re-evaluate much of what he thought he knew. I don't want to make this tooe asy for him, but at the same time, he's a smart guy. It's inevitable he'll come around, especially since he and Spike ultimately have the same goal.

First of all, let me say that I hope you have a safe trip... NOW, I just LOVE this chapter. I see what Walsh is doing. But I think Robin is going to have a problem separating Buffy (his job) from getting to know the woman. Spike is so not going to be happy when he sees him. Glad that there is something in the back of his mind about the military. Great job there. And Havi??? what a big crossroads she is going to have to get through. As always love the interaction between Spike and Giles. And the coupley interaction between Buffy and Spike. He will always be there when she needs him.

Havi and Baltozar go head to head in the next chapter, so you won't have to wait too long for the particular crossroad. And I'm making up for the focus on the ensemble recently by having some B/S quality time in the next chapter, too. :)

Just wanted to say thanks for the update - which I'm sure I'll get round to enjoying one day - my reading time seems to have completely disappeared at the moment.

Hope the immigration thing passes off OK (I'm sure it will), and that the journey from over there to over hear goes smoothly. :)
