So, a week ago, when I was writing my last paper, my computer decided to commit sepuku. The hard drive spun up for no apparent reason, the hard drive spun down, and then it wouldn't go anymore. Thank god for google documents! said I. So my paper was saved and turned in on time. Hooray! But this does mean that I lost all the papers I wrote this semester (haven't backed up since Christmas) Boo. Going to have to retype them from the hardcopies that I turned in so that I'll have copies. Eurgh. Sounds horrible. Biggest problem being that I have also lost all the work I did on the lolcats paper (the paper, the slideshow, the pictures, and the data set) boo. I was planning to polish that one up this summer. Perhaps I still will.
Anyways, so I had to go to this mall on the north side of Indy to get my compy fixed. The guy was like, "yeah, apparently your harddrive was a dud. It's dead. Luckily, you're still under warranty and we have the parts in the store. We'll have it fixed for you in a couple of hours!" Hooray!
So I spent a couple of hours wandering around this uber-posh mall. Seriously. They had a Tiffany's. The department store was a Saks Fifth Avenue. I wound up in the shoe department there and found that somewhere along the way I have apparently developed very good taste in shoes. Let me tell you about the Prada. These were so pretty that I'm actually talking about *shoes*. So pretty, that I will even link to pictures. They're doing fabulous things with the heels of their shoes. Stillettos shaped like flower stems with enameled petals holding up the back of the shoe
(1). Marcacite inlays like art-deco cathedral arches
(2). Wavy heels
(3). Whatever you want to call this gorgeousness
(4).
Anyways, that's my story about that.
On Sunday I went kyaking with some people and it was fabulous. The weather was perfect and it was really nice to be out on a lake. Summer is nice. I've actually cracked open the 11th volume of Wheel of Time and I acquired a copy of Quicksilver for next. That's about all I have to say for myself.
