SJ (swedish) train ticket

Jul 20, 2011 16:18

i "did" something, and i'm trying not to freak out over it being a very expensive mistake, so any help at all would be appreciated

i booked a train ticket from Berlin to Copenhagen on www.sj.se

when putting my travel paperwork together i noticed on the receipt it said:

Delivery method: Collect tickets
To be collected at a SJ ticket machine or SJ travel ( Read more... )

sweden, germany: berlin, #trains

Hi!
I'm not sure how much I can help, but I looked at their website and the only place outside of Sweden that has an SJ travel office seems to be Copenhagen (which doesn't help you very much). I know that there are 7-Eleven's in Berlin, but I'm not sure that they would be able to print out SJ tickets - that might just be the 7/11 in Sweden...
Can you get to any of these places: http://www.sj.se/sj/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=108&a=144521&l=en ?

Also there is this: http://www.sj.se/searchorder/changeorderstart.form?l=sv&lkaid=112307:282:69253 where it says that you can, uhm, debook, rebook, print and get your ticket sent to your phone. I just can't find it in English for you, but in the first square you fill in your order number, then choose your country and type in your phone number. I'm not sure this'll work, but you could try?

Sorry, this might not be the solution to anything, you should try calling as well (though that might get really expensive). I hope it works out for you!

thank again :):) i put in my details and it seems to only allow me to print my receipt, which i already have...i will wait a couple of days and see if either SJ or the Paris travel office get back to me and just hope i have enough good karma left in the world

OH YES, that is helpful...one of the places listed in your first link is in Paris and i will be there in early August. I sent them an email asking if I can pick up a ticket from their office (fingers crossed!)

My journey is not until September, but i am leaving for europe in 2 weeks...i'm telling myself 'it will be ok and i will sort it out' (just so i don't cry)

are you in sweden? i'd be MORE than happy to offer a gift of payment (and was going to be my next course of action) for someone to go pick it up and mail it to me...is that too desperate? i am quite desperate at this stage!

I'm in Sweden until the August 19th, when I move to Amsterdam. If nothing else works out for you, I could pick up your ticket and mail it to you - as long as all the details were worked out. I'm a student so I know what it's like, not wanting to waste your money like that.
I've picked up a ticket like that once, but I think I had to use the credit card I'd registered the ticket on to pay for it, did it say anything like that when you bought it? Otherwise, I guess there's a code or something...

i do have a proper receipt, with an order number and my name listed as the traveller, and a case number from the email query i sent to SJ on their site

do you need to swipe the credit card used when getting the tickets from a ticket machine? or if you see someone at a ticket office, do you think if i had a covering email/letter with my details and your details that they would accept that?

it didn't say anywhere during the order process that that ticket was to be picked up...i have been looking at their site and they clearly list e-tickets and mobile tickets as an option

i'm sorry to sound crass (or pushy or crazy) but i'd be willing to pay $50 plus expenses if you'd go to the trouble (paypal, or LJ gift tokens, or whatever)

i'm middle aged, i'm going on a trip of a lifetime alone, and i feel like i've messed it up before i've even left!

please think about it, and if you think it would work PM me?

thanks for your help, regardless :)

I don't think you sound crazy at all, I know I've screwed up stuff a lot and have to trust friends, family and strangers to get it right, I wouldn't need any money just for helping out.

I'm actually going away today, by train, so I could check out the SJ office in Lund and see if I can work out the ticket thing. I'll be back saturday and can PM you then - hopefully everything will have worked out, but otherwise I'll definitely help you.
Like rhapsodyyyy said, you should try calling SJ as well, they might be able to help you!

thank SO SO much for your help on this, and for indulging me

i received a reply from SJ

" Our trainpersonal will bring the tickets to Berlin and give them to the offices at Berlin. They will later give the tickets to the person working on your train wich will contact you and bring all your tickets."

i'm so glad everything worked out! they've probably had to help people with this type of thing before - they might be expensive but sj usually offers up help where they can.

i hope you have an amazing trip!
