My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon to England and Wales in September 2012. Ideally we'd like to spend three weeks there, starting in London and working our way west: Salisbury Plain for Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Wells, *hopefully* Tintagel, and Cardiff.
First, I'm sure accommodations can get pretty pricey, so are there any good websites to recommend for booking hotels in the locations I listed? Or even a specific hotel anyone might recommend?
Secondly, transportation. Obviously that won't be in issue in London, but to travel to multiple stops en route to Cardiff is. I looked into BritRail, but looking at the routes it seems the stops are a bit out of the way for the places we want to see. Instead, we're considering renting a car, which I think would make the trip more fun and interesting. But I have some major concerns: 1) is it financially worth it (we'd have the car for about two weeks after spending a week in London) and 2) how difficult would it be to adjust to driving in England (being from America)?
Thanks for any and all suggestions!
