A week in Athens
My boyfriend and I are going to Athens soon for a week, from the UK. We've already developed a list of places to visit and things to do, but I thought I'd ask people who have actually been - what are the "can't miss" bits of the city for you? Where do we have to visit, what food to we have to eat (I am SO excited for the cuisine!), what's the beach like, etc.
We're getting Euros from our bank in preparation - how much money would you recommend to bring in cash?
And also - how easy is it to get around speaking mainly English? We both speak other languages but have no Greek at all. Will that be a huge concern? It isn't exactly tourist season yet, so I'm worried we may run into problems.
Anything else we should be aware of?
