I'm planning to go to Rome for about a month, starting in late August/early September. As I'm going to be there for a fairly long time, and will be there for an internship, I'd like accommodation that's cheap but also comfortable and not too noisy. I wouldn't mind some of the really cheap hostels on a short term basis, but if I'm living and working in Rome for a whole month I don't think I want to be stuck in a shared room with people going in and out late at night, especially if I have to get up early in the morning. A friend suggested that I look into monasteries and convents, so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I'd particularly like somewhere fairly central, if possible, and also relatively cheap (under 30 euros a night).
Alternatively, does anyone know of any good hostels with cheap private rooms in Rome?
Any advice would be appreciated!
