Shakespeare & Co. in Paris is a beautiful place. :) Do explore the place, there are many interesting nooks and crannies to discover. You might like to check out Vélodrome d'Hiver if you have time. I'm not too sure how difficult it is to get there but it was the venue which held the Jewish in Paris after the Nazi raid. Only a handful of people survived this roundup and it has been an event of French disgrace ever since.
Montmartre is a great place to spent half a day in. There is a Dali Gallery up the hill and an artist "village" as well. The apartment Picasso lived in is still there. Amelie's cafe is nearby too. When I was there, I found the souvenirs there cheaper as well so good to grab a few keepsakes there. I think you'll like Latin Quarter. It is really quaint, there are marionette shops and lots of bookshops in the area. I'm a history and old masters person so I like museums. Musee d'Orsay is very good, I heard. So is Carnavalet. You can rent a bike easily in Paris. They have auto-stations all over the city. I think it's a cheap and fast way (great too) to explore Paris. But the metro is still something you should try. Some trains have interesting doors which you have to lift a ledge to release the catch haha!
You'll love the Rikjsmuseum and Van Gogh in Amsterdam. Everyone says you must try the muffin in their coffee shops. I'm not into drugs so I didn't do it. My friend had some really potent ones and fainted right there. Be a bit careful. All the cities you are going to area equally great to spent time in. I really enjoyed myself when I was in Paris and Amsterdam, there are so many things to see! Copenhagen was rainy and quiet when I was there. Their history museum is pretty good too!
turns out i got a hostel in Montmartre, so i guess i'll be around that area every day haha thanks for the info about that area!! i had no idea (about the artist "village" picasso apt etc)
