You can't actually go into the Moulin Rouge unless you have tickets for that night's show (they only have cabaret revues, not concerts or shows), and the cheapest tickets are about 80 euros, easy. You can look around at the outside like all the other tourists, but that's about it.
I'd rather wander around Place des Abbesses area in Montmartre than Place du Tertre. The view from Sacre Coeur is splendid, but watch your stuff. Montmartre is cool (especially if you go to Sacre Coeur at night), but there are other places in Paris I'd rather visit and most of the other outer arrondissements (anything that wasn't part of Paris before about 1870) have a village-y feel as well.
I really liked Disneyland Paris, actually. If you purchase your tickets online at least five days in advance (buy the Francilien ticket), you can save a bunch of money. Even then, it's 67 euros for two parks/one day, which is a steal compared to Disney World, where it's over 70 bucks for one park/one day. Versailles is pretty, but touristy - I'd rather spend more time at the Trianons and the Queen's Hamlet than the cheateau proper, although the grounds are great for a picnic lunch. If you're interested in chateaux, there are plenty of others in the Ile de France region that are 1) accessible by public transportation, 2) less touristy, and 3) some of them are free.
oh i know (i looked on the moulin rouge website & quickly changed my mind when i saw the prices haha)
cool! the hostel i might be staying at i think is in Montmarte area
wow 67 euros for 2 parks/one day isn't bad considering like you said that disneyworld is that much for one park! it's a lot smaller though right? (disneyland paris) i'm going to be in paris for my bday..i know at one point disneyworld in the US had free admission on your bday, i wonder if they do that in paris haha probably not..
The two parks are smaller, yes. In fact, the Walt Disney Studios, which is supposed to be like MGM, is rather small. There's a couple of those special effects sort of rides and shows, but the only thing I ever went there for was Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster, and that was only because my friends insisted upon it. I would have been much happier to get a one park ticket and hang out in the main, Magic Kingdom-like park. Here's the interactive map: http://www.disneylandparis.fr/interactive-map.xhtml
I tried looking on the website, but didn't find anything about birthdays...
If you do decide to go, keep in mind that the parks close earlier during the week (6 and 7 pm) than on the weekend (7 and 9 pm). Wednesdays will be more crowded because most French children don't have classes on Wednesday afternoons. Weekends will be more crowded, too, but the park will be open later.
