So I got a couple of questions here. I am looking to go to Europe in May. (We recently graduated from college and thought eurotrip before diving into the humdrum 9-5 days.) We got most of the trip planned out, except the last part of it. We will be in Amsterdam, and we were interested in hitting another country (~3-4 days) before taking our plane ride home, which will depart from London. (We're hitting London, Athens, and Paris before Amsterdam.)
We looked at a map, and decided Belgium would be interesting and convenient, it being right next to the Netherlands.
So first question is, Where in Belgium would you recommend going? I think we could go to 2 different cities in 3-4 days? At first, I thought Brussels and Bruges, but then I read that Brussels is overrated and I read that Ghent and Leuven were quite nice....
Second question, what's the best way to get from Amsterdam to Belgium? I looked at some train sites, but some of them came out quite expensive.... am I looking at the wrong sites or something??? I didn't think a quick train ride would be that much.
Next question, what's the best way to travel within Belgium? Would it be by train hopping from one city to the next? Keep in mind we're really not hitting many different cities, nor is it for an extended time.
Last question! What's the best way to go from Belgium to London? Is it by train again?
If you could also, point out some websites that I could compare prices off of ... I got eurorail and eurostar so far.
I realize I probably should have done this a month of so ago, because there's barely a month left, and I know it's better to buy tickets sooner than later, but there were some problems with who is going and them backing out so I couldn't buy tickets until we got the number finalized =.= I am looking to buy tickets by the end of this weekend tho!
Thanks so much guys! :)
