Backpacking to Europe

Oct 18, 2009 18:51

Hello, my friends and I are planning our first backpack to Europe somewhere around Mar/Apr next year.  The countries we'll be visiting would probably be England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and maybe Germany, if we can make full use of the one month duration that we've given ourselves.

Our budget for the trip would be approximate US$5000.00, I'm wondering if this would be enough for the one month trip.  We'll be seeking accomodations in hostels and cheap hotels, would anyone be able to advise/recommend some good ones?

I'm also seeking some help on the order of countries for this trip, and some advise on the cheapest and less time consuming way of getting around these countries.

I'm in the planning stage and am taking notes and have even taken reading 'europe for dummies' in preparation for this trip, so any advice and assistance is most definitely very much appreciated!
