Hey guys! I'm going to Europe in December/January and have two questions, one about Austria v. France and one about languages.
Austria v. France: I'm tossing up between Austria and France for a five-day-long stay around the New Years period. I will be travelling alone and I speak limited school-German and zero French. For anyone who's been to Austria or France, which would you recommend? (I know that really depends on, like, everything, but if you could please tell me what you liked about each country it would really help.) I was wondering re: Austria if anyone has stayed at/heard much about The Treehouse? I know it's a really specific question but that place looks really awesome and if anyone has been there I'd love to hear about it.
Languages: How hard is it to get around Italy/Denmark/possibly France without knowing a word of the language? Furthermore, if anyone has tried to learn bits of those languages for touristy reasons, could you please recommend me a resource? Both online and book/tape are good.
