Just a repost of the Dutch Politicians post I did on uk_lolitics , in preparation for the Dutch nostalgia post I'm planning ('cause Brown and Blair arent the only retired politicians worth shipping).
The coalition
Mark Rutte
Also known as: the motherfucking Prime Minister
Party: VVD. (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, conservative liberals)
Birthdate: February 14th, 1967
Family: SINGLE!!!
Lolitical Facts:
- TV channel BNN launches a dating show ‘So you wanna marry Mark Rutte?’ featuring a score of young women and one man, each trying to prove that they were the perfect partner for Mark. However, Mark did not cooperate in the show, stating that there is nothing wrong with being single. Is said to be interested only in politics.
- Is the youngest of a family of 7
- Is a very skilled pianist and once considered a career in music.

Deputy Prime Minister
Party: CDA (Christian Democratic Appeal, centre-right christians)
Birthdate: september 14th, 1956
Family: Married, has 3 children
Lolitics Facts:
- According to those around him, Maxime is very sensitive, cries easily, and has broken down in tears during stressful meetings and recently cried silently in public, watching a passionate speech at the last CDA conference. Seems Maxime needs a hug every nog and then.
- He Loves his twitter. ( http://twitter.com/maximeverhagen) Recently tweeted (translated):
I hear they even interviewed my childhood boyfriend. (Ik hoorde dat zelfs mijn jeugdvriendje aan het woord kwam.)
Did he mean friend whose a boy, or…? He also tweets adorable things like:
Just brought my daughters to work. Made ham-cheese toasties and did the dishes. Played soccer with my son.
Spinning himself as the perfect family man? He also passionately tweets with and follows someone called liquorstoregirl.

Mark and Maxime flirted with eachother for 127 days before forming a partnership. Mark made the first move on the first day but Maxime was held back by his party, some of whom opposed a threesome with Wilders. As such, Mark and Maxime flirted with others and exchanged longing glances to eachother for months before finally getting the union they wanted. Picspam of the happy couple:

Leader of the PVV (Part for freedom, very right wing), which passively supports the coalition to achieve a majority in the HOC.
Birthdate: September 6, 1963
Family: Married, his (2nd) wife is a Hungarian diplomat, no children

Job Cohen
Leader of the PvdA (Party of Labour, moderate left-wing)
Birthdate: October 18, 1947
Family: Married with 2 children
Lolitical Facts:
- Plays the violin
- Was beloved (if not by everyone) in Amsterdam in his last position as mayor of Amsterdam, a position from which he resigned in 2010 to become party leader.
- As mayor, in 2001, he presided over the first same-sex marriage in the Netherlands.
- Loves Dutch schlager and folk music.

Femke Halsema
BAMF feminist and leader of GroenLinks (Green left, the name says it all, doesn’t it? leftwing environmentalist)
Birthdate: April 25th, 1966
Family: lives with her boyfriend and their two children, the twins Suzy and Bruno
Lolitical Facts:
- Once accidently proposed to Mark Rutte in parlement, causing Mark to blush like a schoolboy.
- Worked in a bar when she was 18.
- Left Dutch Labour in 1997 after Labour refused to take a stand against what Femke felt was police brutality.
- Made the educational choice to send her children to the most multicultural public school in her area.
- Made a viral tool where you can ask Femke questions on politics. (http://vraaghetfemke.groenlinks.nl/), type ‘star wars’ to see her do a light saber fight!
There are tons of other parties and a whole cabinet, but I'll leave you with this for now. If you feel I've left out an essential hottie or LOL, do let me know and I'll try to remedy that, or contribute your own picspam/lol-facts. Birthdate: oktober 20th, 1948
Family: Married
Lolitical Facts:
- Embarassed himself in 2006 when, as secretary of justice, he launched a rap song, calling himself The Don. The excruciatingly bad rap was meant to combat drug abuse and quickly became a Dutch internet meme.
- Pulled a practical joke on his colleages, sending them fake fines for working more overtime than a politician was allowed.
He's always just a bit lost, just a bit out of touch with today's youth, no matter how hard he tries. And I think he looks adorable. He puts the lol in lolitics and as such I'm happy to see him back in office.
