Skinks need some lovin' too, right? Especially if you are a juvenile five-lined skink that has lost part of your blue tail, probably to one of four cats in the house. You would definitely want to find a dark, warm, surprisingly soft rock to curl up under for a nap. Where's the harm in that?
Anyway, I'm trying not to sleep all day so that I can sleep at night too. Last night was definitely more successful than Thursday night.
So a few minutes ago, Shannon came down to wake me from my post-breakfast nap. I was very groggy as is often the case. Shannon helped move the comforter & blankets away. I picked up my legs to swing them to the side of the bed. And my secret bedmate was revealed.
Thankfully Shannon was faster than the skink that had decided that under my leg was the perfect nap spot. After a stunned moment, Shannon grasped the little critter in two hands and ran it outside.
I'm glad in my stupor-like state I wasn't moving around in bed too much. I would have hated to squish my new friend.
