On a train bound to Szegéd

Nose and cheeks pink with cold thaw slowly in the musty heat of a train car.

A bearded man points to the no smoking sign as he puffs on his cigarette.

Fashionable young women chatter excitedly as they read about love and underthings.

Underworld pushes the miles behind us, through mountains, over endless plains and rolling hills.

you let me in through the back door

I wonder if we will ever arrive as the sun dims and the lights brighten. We pass Kelenföldi palyaudavar and my heart sinks.

Silly tourists-

All roads lead to Budapest.
