Until February, entries here will mostly be logging the planning stages of my impending trip to Hungary. The tentative dates of travel at this point are Feb 6-ish to March 2nd-ish. Possibly we will also spend a couple days in Prague and Athens, if our schedule allows. But we only have 3 weeks, and this is an academic trip, so obviously research takes priority.
to do
- Get some guidebooks and phrasebooks.
- Figure out the actual weather situation, as well as the hostel customs. If we are unlikely to have a kitchen to use, as is the case with hostels in Amsterdam, that will drastically change my packing list. And obviously I am going to be very serious about having warm enough clothing while still packing light.
- Hit REI once I know how damn cold it will be and invest in zipneck baselayers, thermal underwear that fits, and a more durable coat than my fuzzy monster.
