I read this article in yesterday's Metro News:
Man Hurt Chasing Brit
A man on a motorcycle has been seriously injured while chasing Britney Spears, TMZ.com reports. The accident, first reported by That Other Blog, happened around 5pm Monday, roughly a mile from the Beverly Hills Four Seasons Hotel. Several cars were in line chasing the pop princess when one hit a photographer on a motorcycle, throwing the rider off the bike and onto the road.
The man works as a "spotter", and does not carry a camera. Instead, he follows stars and tips off other photographers to their whereabouts. He has been following Spears for only a few days. The rider was seriously injured and transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. His current conditions are unknown.
What was your first thought when you read this? Was it, aww, poor man, he was hit by a car! Or was it, WHAT IS WRONG with the world??? Because mine was definitely the latter.
Some of the passages that horrified me were:
seriously injured while chasing - unless she just stole his purse, there is no good reason to do this!
Several cars were in line chasing the pop princess - what a horrible feeling this must evoke... like a hunted animal
he follows stars and tips off other photographers to their whereabouts - what POSSIBLE benefit could this have for society???
He has been following Spears for only a few days - ONLY a few days?? If someone followed me for even 20 minutes I would get panicky.
I hope I am never this famous.
On another note, here is a random quote of the day, from when I was feeling overwhelmed with schoolwork:
From a week ago:
Suzi: I'm thinking of taking up coffee drinking.
Dad: No, you don't have enough responsibilities for that yet.
