I have no idea how I come across these days - but "dual personality" applies in the sense of public vs. private persona and all that Myers-Briggs stuff..
I'm quite pleased the weekend is here. Time flies when it gets busy. I have to get my pics to Germany so they can take hardcopies to the family getogether. I haven't seen most of the extended family in 10 years, they don't even know what I look like anymore and vice versa. I don't think I've changed much but maybe it takes distance to judge. I wasn't exactly "close" with most of them to begin with, it's more about the feeling of being part of the clan I guess. Since I've left there I feel like hardly any of them made an effort to stay in touch and everyone just revolves around themselves anymore. They probably have written me off as "the one who disappeared to the other end of the world". Out of the 10 families I send Christmas cards to, 2 or 3 have ever sent anything back. I still continue doing it, would feel weird if I didn't. Still: I don't like when things are out of balance.
