At long last! I've finally done it! I've finally completed the ultimate robotics project -- a fully automated, fully independent, fully sentient automaton! A Servo!

I've initialized it as a male, and named it Captain Nemo after the protagonist of one of my favorite Jules Verne books. So far, he seems to be working optimally.

He's a marvel of engineering, if I may be so bold. I managed to program him with top cooking, cleaning, and mechanical skills. He's also completely solar-powered, making him environmentally friendly.

The best part, however, is his personality. He's proved to be an excellent conversational partner in the short time I've had him. He even has a sense of humor! (In the interest of fair reporting, though, I ought to admit I programmed him with a personality very similar to my own, so. . .)

He's an extremely inquisitive robot as well -- he was searching the yard earlier, analyzing rocks.
![](http://img37.imagefra.me/s548/picturesofme/1jqm_d7a_u9rua.jpg)
He also tried talking to some people who passed by the house. I'm a little worried this won't end up going well for him -- too many people around here are still extremely technophobic.

Then again, he has already gotten himself a job. A small paper hoping to challenge the prejudices of "The Secundus Daily News" discovered him via some newsposts he made on the computer connection (he felt it was his duty to share the robotic perspective on some issues) and hired him to write the occasional article. Not bad for someone only a few days old!

And he's already looking to improve -- though, honestly, I'm not sure how a robot improves bodily strength and function. Especially through yoga. He seems to be satisfied with his progress, though. . . .

As for the other areas of my life, I'm proud to report that, after much tinkering and meddling and such, I've finally been promoted to the top of my chosen career! Or, rather, I showed off my fully functional, paradox-free time machine today, and everybody agreed I deserved a bump in salary. My official title is "History Rewriter," though I hope never to have to actually put it into practice.

With so much more free time on my plate, and a thorough mastery of Robotics, I'm moving back to my old love, toy-making. I hope to obtain full mastery there too. I'm already up to a Silver Badge ranking, according to the books. . . .

And I'm working on improving my science knowledge and my own bodily strength and function. (That's where Nemo must have learned yoga helps with that. It has made me more flexible.)

Oh, and Jeanne called me up today. Said I was one of her best friends, which was very nice. I never had many friends growing up, so it's a pleasant change of pace to have them now.

I think that's part of why I made Captain Nemo. I wanted to have someone else around the house, in case. . . Though since I have a girlfriend I'm madly in love with, the possibility of ending up completely alone seems rather remote now.

The only thing to do now is work on my skills and wait for warmer weather. It keeps snowing on and off here, but I DID see some butterflies the other day. . . .

Hopefully they're a sign of things to come. Right now, though, I ought to get to bed.
