It's done.
Convocation was tonight. I have my diploma, the ceremony is over, the party is wrapped up.
I did it.
It's been an incredible ride. I've learned so much, grown so much, my life before this seems almost unreal in a way. And, of course, as much as this is an end it is also a beginning. I'm going to have to get my own business officially set up and running, hit the streets looking for work, and apply everything that I've learned. That, and keep learning, because I know I'm not done yet.
Interestingly, I didn't receive any of the class awards, nor was I valedictorian. I don't mind this in the slightest, as the respective recipients were all very deserving. However, I was a strong contender for many of the categories, and that really fits me. I may not be the best at any one thing.. but I am highly competent in almost everything. Jack of all trades, and all that.
L was at the convocation, as were my parents and grandparents. It was great to have them all there. I've gotten so much support, love, and encouragement from my family over the past year, and I couldn't have done this without them.
I'm going to miss my class. Some people are leaving the provence, while others are uncertain as to what their future holds. I'm pretty confident in my own direction, though I suspect it will change as time progresses.
In any case, I'm at least moderately drunk and wired, so I think I'm going to wrap this up now. Watch out world, here I come.
