I have three tests on Tuesday, and one of them is an essay test (in Molecular Biology II no less) but I looooove procrastinating. I also love cooking. So I made a quiche! From scratch! It is a ham, caramelized onions, and swiss/gruyere quiche.
I made the dough as well. It was surprisingly flaky and delicious.
The dough rolled out and pressed into the pan.
Some little dough scraps. Why did I even take a picture of those? No idea.
The crust was baked for a little while and then the ingredients were added. Here is the ham!
And the caramelized onions! They didn't really turn out they way they were supposed to, but they were still yummy.
Here is the finished product. After the ham and onions I poured in the quiche egg filling and sprinkled the cheese on top, but I forgot to take a picture.
The quiche is unmolded. The pan's bottom and sides are not connected for easy removal of quiches and tarts and other such savory things.
I begin to eat.
Absolutely delightful! The quiche was hugely successful.
All in all, I was very proud of myself and the quiche was scrumptious. Hooray for me!
