So is everyone in uproar/all tingly over the new Colin + Johnny Capps interview1. I LOVE JOHNNY! I think at lot of my fears for the future of Merlin have been alleviated

3. Part of me thinks it was unfair of the interviewer to put Colin on the spot like that. From all accounts Colin is shy and not really suave when it comes to answering questions like this.
I thought so too. He seems to get embarassed by it, unlike Bradley who just sort of takes it in his stride. It was a bit unfair of the interviewer to grill him like this. They would have been better off asking Bradley who seems able to deal with it a bit more . . .
4. The tinhat in me wants to believe that Colin got freaked because he thinks his gay is showing on Merlin, and it's not supposed to. He's a good actor, this is not meant to be happening. ;) (But then I think of his clearly flirty "you likin' them?"
*dons tinhat too* hmmm I thought that. He seems very very sensitive about the whole issue, certainly more so than Bradley who isn't in the slightest bit bothered about it. And if he's so uncomfortable with gaytingz then why did he do the Catherine Tate Christmas Show and play a gay man in A Prayer for My Daughter. and that "are you liking them" flirt was soooo gay lol, even Bradley seemed a bit thrown by that. So I can't beleive its conservatism.
5. Then again I wonder, maybe Colin is really conservative? He sounds genuinely afraid of the internet like it's the devil's creation.
Possibly, but even the whole "brought up Catholic" thing doesn't mean he's necessarily going to be painfully religious and conservative (I've known plenty of Irish Catholics who are anything but!), plus the thing they said on the DVD about him getting drunk, and his whole sick sense of humour, plus some of the roles he's played would make me think otherwise. I mean, the theatre/acting is one of the gay-est professions on earth and anyone who was uncomfortable with gay-ness would have made a strange career choice there.
Hmmm, interesting, without trying to get too tinhatty . . .
You make very good points about his "conservatism". Plus I would think being a part of the theatre community for several years doesn't really point towards conservatism, but hey I could be wrong.
The special on Australian tv on Sunday is hosted by the guy who asked the slash question in this interview so I wonder if that will be a part of the show. Could be interesting to see how he answered the question..if he was all smilley, a bit bashful or embarrassed, or just all serious.
