Review: Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight

Sep 19, 2007 13:34

Don't tell anybody, but I really liked Linkin Park's first album, "Hybrid Theory" and especially liked the remix album that followed: "Reanimation".  I listened to the follow up to that, "Meteora" and wasn't really into it but it didn't make me want to vomit.   It also didn't make me want to listen to "Collision Course" (which I've still never heard).   But, I am listening to their latest release - "Minutes to Midnight"...and this is complete and utter shit.  But wait!  Rick Rubin produced this!  The whole thing!  But...Rick Rubin hasn't really done anything in a while that I would care to listen to anyway.  So, I'm giving up on Linkin Park.  I'm also giving up on Rick Rubin because I don't think he "has it" anymore.  As much as I tend to dislike "Popular Music" I am usually pretty happy when I find something that I actually like and it sort of bums me out all the more when it takes a turn for the worse.

review, music
