x2vnc - revisited

Geeky post to be sure...

On my desk at work I have one Linux workstation and a my Windows laptop in a docking station.  They each have a matching 19" Dell LCD monitor attached to them.  I also have two keyboards and mice.  Of course, I could just get an KVM switch (and probably should - calling helpdesk soon'ish...) but in the interim I am using x2vnc: a handy little utility that runs on the Linux box, connects to WinVNC running on my Windows laptop, and allows me to move the pointer and keyboard focus from one screen/system to the next.

x2vnc -west myhostname.mydomain.com:0

Turns the left side of my Linux screen into a single pixel VNC window so that when I cross that line the cursor on my Windows machine starts to move and I can point, click, and type.  Pretty handy...

Anyway, cool utility that I have used on and off for about 5 years that just got dusted off long enough for me to think it was cool...
