Score: Shawshank Redemption
This morning I've been listening to Thomas Newman's original score to Shawshank Redemption. Even without the context of the movie this music makes sense and stands alone. I've heard this score many times before (the score is over 12 years old now) but it never fails to impress and affect me. Those of you who are fans of electronic music may enjoy this as this is a very successful hybrid between electronic (ambient textures) and orchestral (gorgeous and full yet minimal composition and orchestration). Highly recommend you give this a listen.
