bradfitz reveals
in this post that
Six Apart has bought LiveJournal.
Six Apart, founded by Ben and Mena Trott, created
Movable Type, a weblogging system that I've used
over here. They extended MT as the basis of a bloghosting system called
TypePad. It's an increasingly slick piece of software.
Brad seems assured that LJ will remain LJ, and if my impressions of the Six Apart folks are halfway accurate, then they understand what makes LJ different from other bloghosting systems and will focus on improving the project overall.
