pretty things, great music
well, i'm knackered, but wow, it was a good night last night.
met jasmine at 'on the rocks' in shoreditch a little early, before the crush to come and met a few glamorous creatures. then about half an hour later everyone piled in, and suddenly the place was full of some very glamorous creatures indeed.
the first band was called 'crash convention', and they were pretty good; jasmine didn't like them much, but she's not into rocky music particularly, and they got quite heavy at points; one of those bands that has great intros to songs but then loses the inspiration halfway through.
next were 'special needs' who were the real reason i was there; i love them! they pose and strut and play very cool music and are releasing a single called 'francesca' soon, in october i think, which i urge people to buy. they've got a doo-wop kind of sound, which is actually kind of rocky; i really don't have the vocabulary to write about music! anyway, they were great.
'the rocks' followed, who, despite reviews to the contrary, are also very cool, and who put on a great show. it was their album launch, so they were riding high on a crest of adoration, or at least drunken affection from friends, and all in it was the nicest way to go deaf that i can think of.
argh, files keep landing on my desk! i'm actually being expected to do some work...honestly.
