Then it's fine! They shock you if you don't use 'em for long enough, I've heard. [ *Has never been shocked.* ]

It's safe now. If you want, I can come over an' pick it up for you myself, but it should be fine.

Okay, okay. Look, I'm immune to electricity, right? I'll touch it for you, to prove it's okay, if you want.

Okay, okay...

[ In retrospect, using communicators when you're like, one room over, is kinda lazy. Wanna bet this guy was futzing around the kitchen? For all his casual tone, he looks kinda worried. ]

[ Lazy. But she's pretty far away from her device right now which is seen on the floor somewhere in the middle of the room, and she's waaaaaay over at the wall just staring at it. Right now, she has no reason to trust the device that gave her a shock. ]

[ ...He wants to go over and pat her on the head, or something equally inane and comforting; he looks around for the communicator instead, spots it, and picks it up in his good hand. Waves it at her a little, keeping his distance. ]

Nothing, see? The scientists like to hear from nice girls like you, so when they're feelin' neglected, they send a little shock over, to remind you not to leave 'em lonely.

That's not very nice of them...

[ But seeing him pick it up does reassure her a little that there is no more danger to be found other than the shock. It still makes her a little uneasy just seeing it, however. ]

What if I have nothing to say?
