...getting a warm send off and being outed as a geek all at the same time.

Today was the day that I've been dreading since one of the ladies on my team let slip it was scheduled...my farewell lunch in the office.

I'm not good with stuff like this and the thought of having all eyes on me at a time like that…well…I'd rather have root canal.  However, everyone seemed determined to be as light as possible and it went very well.  They asked a local caterer to make "American Style" food...which consisted on sausages in hard rolls and (what looked like) Egg McMuffins...which was awesome and put a huge smile on my face because, although THAT is not American style...it was better.  It was what English people thought was American style.

They put real thought into this shindig.  I was without words.

They also all chipped in and bought me a comic book statue.  It's a Batman: Black & White statue based on Neal Adams' work.  Which was very cool!  They even had the missus and the kids come up to share in this.
To write more about it would cheapen the experience.  I don't want to do that.  These people were great.  They made me smile and I'm honestly and truthfully going to miss every last one of them.

Tomorrow is my last day.

good times
