Today I went to the career fair that the library school puts on every March. I have possible summer job leads with the Concordia Library music department and a hospital library, and I talked to the Toronto Public Library people who were really nice and said to give them a call when I graduate, and the Ottawa Public Library who had cool neon green pens. However, I actually spent most of the fair standing around talking to people, and Eric and I were talking about bands and shows here and it turns out that he was in a band back in Ottawa that once opened for Starling at a show that no one showed up to. Hee. He said that they were very nice, though. I should have asked what his band was called.
I finally listened to the new Arcade Fire album, after reading about its relative and non-relative merits on the Macleans music blog, and I do like it! One of the things they mentioned is that it has Springsteen influences, and it totally does. But I love Springsteen, so it works for me.
