School is finally starting to be busy! We have all realized that hey, October, when stuff is due, is really not so far away any more. So I am going to be working on a database project on American history 1850-1900ish with a girl from New Jersey (there are a lot of Americans here) and a flow-chart-thingy-about-a-fake-library project with a guy who is going to school in English for the first time. Quebec is very different that way. I'm also going to be helping out with a children's library project that was started last year up at the building where McGill students who have kids can leave the kids for daycare and stuff like that, which should be awesome.
I have to tell you all about my textbook for cataloguing. Do you know the MLA guide? About 150 pages of how to describe things on your works cited page. This textbook? FIVE POUNDS of how to describe things bibliographically (which is a word that comes up in pretty much every class). In a binder. It is very unwieldy. The class is actually pretty good, and the textbook is for reference, not reading, but still.
Sarah forwarded me this list of interesting places to go in Montreal she got from another girl in our program, so tomorrow I'm going exploring! As long as it isn't raining, because I still can't find my umbrella.
