GAME OF THRONES!
I started watching Game of Thrones since I really enjoyed the first book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series (the only one I've read so far). I've never seen a TV show with such superb acting, gorgeous music and scenery, and ability to get me so invested in the characters. I like more characters in this series than even in Harry Potter.
First, the truly good and decent characters, such as Brienne, Jon Snow, Eddard, Robb, Bran. You have the characters who are more of a mixed bag of flaws, pride, and courage, such as Catelyn, Daenerys, Jaime, Arya, and Tyrion.
I've become really interested in Sansa's story lately. She started out as a pretty unlikeable, naive princess who thought her handsome prince was a good person and that living in the castle would be romantic. She believed in knights in shining armor as well. The thing I love about her story is that the closest thing she has to a knight in the first two books isn't a knight at all , is a burned, violent, lewd, and angry man who still shows more kindness to her than anyone else at that time. Yet even he was powerless to do anything to help her situation. But he makes her begin to see the way the world really is, and she learns how to survive as a hostage of the castle.
I'm amazed by how fully developed and human the characters are, and the actors really bring them to life in the series (although I wish Sandor Clegane hadn't been toned down. It's an HBO series, I doubt he'd be too controversial for it).
