Hyukjae, with a daze look on his face, walks slowly into his humble single-room house. There’s nothing valuable in it, there’s a tiny television that were produced in the 90s, a radio and a small table with chairs. Even with its current condition, Hyukjae loves his house so much. Its the only things he had left and there’s so much memories in it.

He felt a little sad to leave the house behind--as a housekeeper, he must move in to his master’s house, which also means he has to quit his school-sad but he needs to continue his life. Tears spilled from the corner of his eyes as he went into his room, laying himself on the thin bed. Wheels turn in his head and memories flash behind his eyes.

He remembers when his parents had bought a yummy-looking strawberry cake, and celebrated his 10th birthday. His ears can almost hear the voice of his father singing loudly “Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Hyukkie, Happy Birthday to you!” and the voice of his mother, soft and full of warmth says to him “Blow the candles, sweetheart.” Its the last birthday he celebrated with his parents-even after that, he still didn’t celebrate any birthday until now.

He once blamed his parents for everything. For borrowing money that they knew they couldn’t afford to pay back, for making him suffers of the burden on the debt but deep into his heart, he knows that thats not it, he doesn’t care if he had to pay for the debt, he doesn’t give a damn about it, but he blames them because they had left him, alone. They went without him. For 6 years, he fend for himself. His grandmother did take care of him but she didn’t know about his bleeding heart.

Every single day, he would think of his parents, of why they left him alone with this burden and wondering was it an easy decision for them. He covers it all up with his smile. Until he met Sungmin. Sungmin is everything Hyukjae is not. He is rich. He had both of his parents that were still alive. He had plenty of friends in the school but all of his good fortune did not change his heart. Sungmin is the humblest man, Hyukjae had ever met or known. For the first week, they had been friends, all the while Hyukjae told him about his life, Sungmin did not look at him with dislike, or even when he went to his house, Sungmin did not recoiled with disgust seeing how small it was compared to his mansion of a house.

Sungmin was everything Hyukjae could wish as a friend. Hyukjae had once asked Sungmin why he’s not like any other spoiled rich brats, and he answered, “Its because i know where i stand.” with a sly smile on his face. Hyukjae didn’t understand but he let it go. Sungmin could be kind of weird sometimes.

Oh.

Thinking of Sungmin, he knows that he’s going to get one hell of a yell tomorrow when he tells him about the work. Hyukjae shudders. Just thinking of it was enough to give him creeps.

“WHAT!” Sungmin yells and Hyukjae covers his ears. After Sungmin had done yelling, he peeked from his eyelashes and made his pleading puppy eyes.

“Oh no, that won’t work to me this time, Hyukkie.” Hyukjae pouts.

“How could you accept, Hyukkie? I didn’t know you’re this innocent! What if its just a scam to kidnap and sell you?” Sungmin glares at the other boy. His nose flared.

“Minnie! I know what i’m doing and i need money! Besides, that old man seems honest to me.”

“Hyukjae! You can’t accept a job from some old man you had never met, suddenly offering a job as a fucking housekeeper just because you thought he was honest! God!”

“I didn’t just thought he was honest, i know he was.” Sungmin just sighs loudly.

Hyukjae pats his hand and plead, “Look Minnie, i know you’re just worried about me and i appreciate that, but i need money to live and this man had been like an angel to me by offering me a job and an advance payment just when i really need it. Also, i know he was being honest with me, trust me.”

Sungmin look into his eyes for a few moments sawing determination, he sighs again. “I trust you. I know i was being stupid but i’m really worried about you. I hope you really do know what you’re doing, Hyukjae.”

Meeting Sungmin’s eyes again, he smiles, “I do know what i’m doing. It may sound crazy but i’m very sure. Thank you, Minnie.”

Sungmin throws his arms around him, hugging him like there’s no tomorrow. “I’m going to miss you, Hyukkie.”

Hyukjae pulls back and chuckles, “I’ll miss you too, but Minnie, you don’t have to get too sappy with me, since i’m only will be going next week.” He grins cheekily.

Sungmin slaps his head hard on the back.

“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?!”

The bell rings signing that it is time for recess. Sungmin had to attend a meeting for prefects so Hyukjae had to eat lunch alone. He bought himself a melon bread and went to the rooftop. It was his favourite place in the school. He used to spend his time there during lunch-when Sungmin’s busy with his work therefore he had to eat alone-just lying on the floor, resting his head on his arm, munching on the bread, just watching the blue sky and white fluffy cloud.

He pushed the rooftop door open knowing that there’s no one there but for once, he was wrong. A boy with brunette hair, standing backing Hyukjae, with his head held up watching the sky. The sound of the door closing must be loud-Hyukjae often do that out of habit to make sure there’s no one there because of one time he caught a couple making out-making the brunette to glance back showing his face.

Hyukjae’s mouth gaped in shock.

The boy-no, the fucking prince, saw him with his mouth opened, offers him a small smile, making Hyukjae recovers from his shock.

“I-i’m sorry for disturbing you.” The prince, watching him with his clear brown eyes, nodded. Hyukjae made a move to open the door and get the hell out of there but the prince voice startled him.

“No,its okay. Don’t mind me. I’m just going anyway. Its your lunch time right?” Hyukjae slowly nodded.

The prince seems like a good person. Never mind his cold face. Hyukjae’s mind wonder to the conversation he had with Sungmin before when he asked about the prince.

“He’s going to get married this year. Poor him. He won’t even know who he’ll be marrying with. Its a tradition, you see. His grandfather will choose her for him. Everything will be handled by his royal family. All he need to do is wait for the wedding ceremony. Sucks huh?”

Yeah, it sucks. Why would anyone made a tradition like that? People should marry for love not because of some fucking tradition. Hyukjae wonders how the prince feels about the whole marriage thing. Nevertheless, since its the last time he will ever saw the prince again he might as well congrats him for it, he would never get the opportunity again.

Hyukjae opens his mouth and said “Congratulations on your wedding plan.” The prince flickers his eyes towards him.

“Why would you said that? I haven’t even met my marriage partner. I don’t even know if its a male or a female.” Hyukjae’s eyebrows rise.

“Male?” The prince smiles a little, and answered, “Gender doesn’t matter in our country.” He snorted. “It doesn’t matter with what my mind too as it seems. I’m just obeying orders.” The prince’s eyes harden and it made Hyukjae sad seeing him like that.

“But don’t worry, i’ll take your congratulary word.” With that he turns to walk to the door. Before he could reach it however, Hyukjae opened his mouth, says, ”It will be okay. For someone like you, they surely will choose a great person.” and offers a reassuring smile.

The prince widens his eyes and recovers quickly. With his own smile, he replies, “I guess you’re right.” and left the rooftop.

Hyukjae stands in front of his house, his luggage on the floor beside him.The old man had told him to wait outside and there will be someone picking him up and send him to his master’s house. After a few while of waiting, a white luxury car slides the road and stop just in front of him. A handsome, tall man with dark hair comes out from the backseat.

“Mr. Lee?” The man asked and Hyukjae nodded.

“I’m Kyuhyun, the secretary. I’ve come to pick you up.” The man shakes his hand and took the luggage off the floor. Hyukjae opens his mouth to tell him that he doesn’t need to do that, but the man shrugged him off, telling him that its his duty to help.

He stored the luggage in the bonnet and gestured Hyukjae to the other side of the car, opens the door and close it up for him.

Hyukjae flushes. He doesn’t need to do that for him. He can do it himself. But Hyukjae knows even if he tells that to Kyuhyun, he would have still do that.

Kyuhyun nodded to the driver and the car starts moving.

Silent stretched in the car leaving Hyukjae nervous. More nervous than he thought it would be. Trying to lessen his nervousness, he flickers his eyes to Kyuhyun and opens his mouth to start a conversation.

“Uhm, well, the only thing i know is that i’m going to be a housekeeper. So, can you tell me more about the house?”

Kyuhyun raises his eyebrow. “What are you talking about? Housekeeper? I’m very sure that we had paid you the engagement money yesterday.” Hyukjae’s mouth dropped. His face started to pale.

Engagement?! Wh-What the hell?
