I. (video) A homecoming

[ Before he opens his eyes, before he realizes where he is, and before the world once again comes crashing down upon him as he experiences the wonder of life again, he's sure of one thing: Ryoji Mochizuki is dead. Somewhere, far away, he had died. That is the only thing he's sure of. As his eyes flicker open, he can feel the tiny tips of the ( Read more... )

You're in Demeleier now.

[The elf peers at the screen, at the person on the other side, fel eyes narrowing slightly. Another human, from the looks of it, a young one.]

[ WAH! It takes him a moment, because the voice coming from his communicator to an unsuspecting person is nothing less than startling. Ryoji jumps before fumbling with the little communicator, looking curious at the person on the other side. ]

Demeleier? Ah, um ... Sorry, but I'm not sure where that is.

[Bright green eyes study Ryoji intently for a few moments longer before he speaks again, finally turning his gaze away.]

It isn't anywhere near where you were, I'm afraid.

[ The dark-haired boy doesn't mask his curiosity. He wouldn't say that he had ever met anyone who resembled this man, but he keeps his gaze admirably without hostility.

The wonder slowly moves to concern when new thoughts about "Demeleier," and what this could mean for him, cross his mind again. ]

No, it doesn't look like it. I'm not dead, am I?

[Don't mind him, he's just a moody git at times. However, at the question he glances up, forcing his expression to soften just a little.]

No...likely not. Just ...abducted.

[ Sadly, the moody git part doesn't seem to put him off at all. ]

Then ... I ...

[ There's a brief look of confusion that crosses his gentle features. ]

I'm still alive, even after what happened ...

[ Suddenly he remembers his manners! ]

Oh, um, I'm sorry. I should introduce myself. I'm Ryoji Mochizuki, what's your name? And ... what's this thing?

You were in trouble then, before arriving?

[Those glowing eyes watch him, a little sharper now. How Demeleier seems to enjoy taking people and snatching them out of trouble recently! It's...perplexing at best.]

Ryoji...Mochizuki...

[He stumbles just a bit on the unfamiliar name but nods, offering his own in return with a bow of his head.]

My name is Duibhín Sunstorm.

[And he pronounces it carefully Doove-heen, wondering if the other will have the same trouble he himself had with Ryoji's name.]

And these...are communicators, I suppose is the best word for them. It allows us to talk over distances.

[ A small, sad smile lingers on his lips as he answered. ]

It wasn't really trouble. It was ... complicated.

[ And he leaves it at that, listening to intently as the interesting looking man on the other end pronounces his name slowly. He remembered a time when the world made him comfortable by giving him a name, a place, and an excuse of a foreign background. It helped him immensely with awkward behaviors in a new school. Though, he couldn't well enough use that excuse now, and had no intent to.

He repeats his name, his other finger pointedly pressed thoughtfully to his chin. ]

Dooove-heen-san. [ And again, with a bit more confidence. ] Thank you, Duiheen-san. [ Okay, still a little awkward. ]

Communicators, huh? Oh!

[ And suddenly he's poking around his back pockets, then his shirt, and then his pants, before looking awfully disappointed. ]

I don't have my cellphone. [ sigh. ] I bet there wouldn't be any towers around here, anyway.

[He can understand complicated, and he respects the vague answer for what it is, smiling a little as Ryoji pronounces his name, nodding slowly, though looking just a little confused at the honorific.]

San...?

[Oh well.]

Others have used that word. It is something like a...cell...phone, though I have yet to see a tower of any magnitude.

Where do they come from?

[ That seemed to be the next logical question. ]

They arrive with us, strangely enough.

I see ...

Ah, if you say they abducted me, then they probably did it for a reason. Um, who's "they"?

[ So this whole ordeal was just a bit overwhelming. He can remember Nyx Avatar, and himself, and his human body "dying," and suddenly being here, within it again. He manages to shift a little, awkwardly, at his own thoughts. ]

The Fae. The reason that we're here. Kidnapped - rescued, and then dumped here, of all places.

[ Okay, well, he hadn't expected that one. Fae ... oh, he can remember Edogawa-san mentioning something about it in one of his lectures, but he can't pinpoint it. Who would have known that information would've come in handy? However, the irony is lost in favor of his own racing thoughts. ]

"Fae" as in ... faeries?

That would be correct.

Edogawa-sensei mentioned them once, but I didn't think that they were real.

... [ He laughs, ironically. ] But I guess I'm here.
